This upcoming American musical, directed by Blitz Bazawule and based on the stage musical adaptation of Alice Walker's 1982 novel, has quite the lineup. We'll see familiar faces from the previous film, as Steven Spielberg and Quincy Jones return to produce, along with Scott Sanders and Oprah Winfrey, who also starred in the 1985 film.
The cast for this new adaptation is phenomenal! Fantasia Barrino and Danielle Brooks will be reprising their roles from the stage musical, joined by Taraji P. Henson, Colman Domingo, Corey Hawkins, H.E.R., Halle Bailey, Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, and Phylicia Pearl Mpasi.
